Fira Santorini
Fira is the capital of Santorini Island, and one of its most popular holiday resorts. Ancient Thira is situated on a hilltop overlooking the Aegean Sea, between the settlements of Kamari and Perissa. Ruins of the city, including sanctuaries, a theatre, an agora, and a gymnasium, offer visitors a glance into the rich history and culture of the island.
From Fira, you can take an excursion boat to Thirassia, Nea Kammeni and Palea Kammeni, the volcanic isles situated in the Caldera area, opposite Santorini.

Santorini Beaches
The beaches on Santorini Island are ideal for sunbathing and swimming, and are also very impressive due to their dramatic settings. The most popular Santorini beaches are the Red and White Beaches located near Akrotiri on the southern coast of the island, and the greyish and black sandy beaches in Kamari, Monolithos, Perissa and Perivolos, which are situated along the eastern coast of Santorini. Other beaches, such as Armeni, Ammoudi, Baxedes, Paradissos, and Vourvoulos are also recommended for swimming and relaxation under the warm Aegean Sun.
